Stephanie Stockham-Ronollo, MA, LPC, RPT, NCC, is founder and director of Roots Renewal Counseling, Inc (RRCI). She is a licensed professional counselor (LPC) in Oregon, Missouri, Colorado, and Michigan. Stephanie loves to work with people using a holistic, mind/body approach. Stephanie specializes in working with people who have survived trauma. She often finds that trauma is not one specific event in a person’s life, but rather a culmination of challenging experiences. Stephanie specializes in working with people who have survived childhood trauma and often have developed the mental health concerns of complex childhood trauma, obsessive compulsive disorder, generalized anxiety, and depression.
She received her master’s degree in Counseling Psychology and Counselor Education from the University of Colorado Denver in 2011. Prior to her work at RRCI, Stephanie was a Staff Counselor at Creighton University in Omaha, Nebraska and Washington University in St. Louis, Missouri. She has also counseled young adults at both Simon Fraser University in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada and at the University of Colorado Denver. Stephanie is clinically a generalist and draws upon several different theoretical orientations that include as follows: cognitive behavioral therapy, mindfulness, interpersonal neurobiology, interpersonal process therapy, and EMDR. Stephanie also uses child centered play therapy and Theraplay with her younger clients.
Her professional areas of interest include self-esteem, relationship concerns, anxiety, OCD, depression, grief, body image and eating disorders, identity development (including multicultural and LGBTQIA identity), PTSD and trauma. Stephanie is highly interested in relationship dynamics and enjoys facilitating couples counseling.
In 2003, Stephanie obtained her bachelor’s degree in International Studies from the University of Oregon. After graduation, she commenced working in the field of International Education where she discovered her passion for working with people from all over the world. In 2006, Stephanie found her enthusiasm ignited in another career field and began training as a healer. She discovered that she was an “edgeleaper”, a person who finds themselves on an edge of a profession and is ready to take its wisdom and knowledge and transform it to a deeper level. As a supplement to her traditional university studies, she trained with the masters of earth based healing traditions and Eastern spiritual practices. In particular, Stephanie has trained with Shiva Rae and is a recent graduate of Dr. Alberto Villoldo’s Light Body School.
