Holly Garcia
Holly Garcia, MS, PCA. Holly Garcia is a Professional Counselor Associate in Oregon, currently accepting new clients at Roots Renewal Counseling. She works with adults and older teens experiencing anxiety, trauma, OCD, depression, and relationship challenges. Holly accepts Aetna, Cigna, Blue Cross Blue Shield/Regence, and Providence and provides telehealth services throughout Oregon.
Holly completed her internship in community mental health, where she gained experience supporting individuals with a wide range of concerns, including anxiety, schizophrenia, complex trauma, substance use disorders, and dual diagnoses. She also has experience working with couples across diverse relationship dynamics and structures, including monogamous, open, and polyamorous relationships.
Holly’s clinical focus includes trauma, anxiety, OCD, depression, relationship concerns, and supporting individuals navigating complex life experiences. She integrates a range of evidence-based and body-centered approaches, including somatic therapy, Polyvagal-informed work, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Internal Family Systems (IFS). She is certified in trauma-informed therapy and telehealth services and is currently beginning her training in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR).
A central lens of Holly’s work is understanding how deeply interconnected the nervous system is with how we experience and move through the world. Trauma can significantly impact the central nervous system, often leading to patterns that once served as protection but may no longer feel supportive. Holly works collaboratively with clients to gently regulate the nervous system and process trauma in ways that reduce its impact on daily life while fostering safety, resilience, and self-connection.
Holly is also a mother of four children, including a child who requires a higher level of support. This lived experience deepens her understanding of the complexities, advocacy fatigue, and emotional load many parents and caregivers carry and informs her compassionate work with caregivers seeking counseling support.
In her relationship work, Holly practices from a nonjudgmental and affirming stance. She supports partners in improving communication, navigating boundaries, repairing relational ruptures, and deepening emotional connection.
Prior to earning her master’s degree, Holly received her Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice with a minor in Law from Portland State University. She previously worked in various case management roles and developed strong skills in advocacy and resource navigation, which continue to inform her therapeutic work.
Holly brings over ten years of experience working alongside individuals navigating life obstacles that have limited access to their fullest selves. She is passionate about walking alongside clients on their healing journeys with compassion, collaboration, and care.
