Stephanie Stockham-Ronollo, MA, LPC, NCC, is founder and director of Roots Renewal Counseling. Previously Stephanie has worked at Washington University and Happy Brain Counseling, both in St. Louis. She specializes in working with children, individuals, couples, and families throughout their lifespan.
She received her master’s degree in Counseling Psychology and Counselor Education from the University of Colorado Denver in 2011. Prior to her work in St. Louis, Stephanie was a Staff Counselor at Creighton University in Omaha, Nebraska. She has also counseled young adults at both Simon Fraser University in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada and at the University of Colorado Denver. Stephanie is clinically a generalist and draws upon several different theoretical orientations that include as follows: cognitive behavioral therapy, mindfulness, interpersonal neurobiology, interpersonal process therapy, and EMDR. Stephanie also uses child centered play therapy and Theraplay with her younger clients. Her professional areas of interest include self-esteem, relationship concerns, anxiety, depression, grief, body image and eating disorders, identity development (including multicultural and LGBTQIA identity), and trauma. Stephanie is highly interested in relationship dynamics and enjoys facilitating couples counseling.
In 2003, Stephanie obtained her bachelor’s degree in International Studies from the University of Oregon. After graduation, she commenced working in the field of International Education where she discovered her passion for working with people from all over the world. In 2006, Stephanie found her enthusiasm ignited in another career field and began training as a healer. She discovered that she was an “edgeleaper”, a person who finds themselves on an edge of a profession and is ready to take its wisdom and knowledge and transform it to a deeper level. As a supplement to her traditional university studies, she trained with the masters of earth based healing traditions and Eastern spiritual practices. In particular, Stephanie has trained with Shiva Rae and is a recent graduate of Dr. Alberto Villoldo’s Light Body School.

Emily Hudson, ND, MA, PLCP, is a a Provisionally Licensed Professional Counselor (PLPC) with the state of Missouri. She received her Masters Degree in Counseling Psychology as well as a Doctorate in Naturopathic Medicine from Bastyr University in 2017. During her studies, she was a staff counselor at Bastyr University. In addition, she offered low cost therapy to the community at the Seattle Therapy Alliance. She enjoys working with adults, children and couples experiencing issues related to anxiety, depression, grief/loss, chronic illness, identity development, career, body image and self confidence.
Her approach to counseling is grounded in humanism which seeks to harness the innate value, potential and goodness of all human beings. She believes mental health should be treated as a part of the whole which includes body, mind and spirit. Each of these aspects is vital to the well being of an individual.
